Rental terms

What you agree to when you rent from us, written so you can read it in three minutes.

These terms apply to every rental from Bali Creator Gear. When you confirm a quote with us on WhatsApp, you're agreeing to them.

The short version

Nothing is charged until you confirm your quote.
You leave a refundable deposit and a photo of your ID. We never hold your passport.
From handover to return, the gear is your responsibility.
If something breaks or goes missing, you pay what it costs to repair or replace it, and no more. We show you the receipt.
If something we delivered doesn't work, we swap it or refund the days you couldn't use it.

Booking and price

A request sent from the site is a request, not a booking. We reply on WhatsApp with availability and the final price, including any delivery fee. Your booking is confirmed when you say yes to that quote. Prices are in Indonesian rupiah.

You pay the rental and the deposit when the gear is handed over. We agree how you'll pay when we send the quote.

You need to be 18 or older to rent.

Rental days

Each calendar day counts, first and last included. One or two days are charged at the day rate. Three to six days use the 3-day rate plus a reduced rate for each extra day. A week or more uses the weekly rate. Every item on the price list shows all three.

Delivery and return

We deliver around Ubud, and to Canggu and Seminyak on request. We set a handover time and a return time with your quote. Please have someone there for both. At handover we go through the kit together so you know everything works and everything is there.

Deposit and ID

Every item and Go Bag shows its deposit on the site. You get it back when the gear comes back in the condition it left in. The details are on the deposit and damage page.

We ask for a photo of your passport or ID so we know who has the gear. We never keep the passport itself.

Looking after the gear

The gear is yours to look after from handover until we collect it. Please don't lend it, rent it on, or leave it somewhere you wouldn't leave your own camera.
Don't open it up or try to repair it. If something stops working, message us.
Action cameras go in the water only within their depth rating, and with the dive case if you're going deeper. Check the door and the seal every time. Rinse in fresh water after salt water.
Sand and gimbals don't get along. Keep pocket cameras and gimbals off the beach floor.
Don't take the gear out of Bali.

Drones

Renting a drone doesn't include permission to fly it anywhere. You're the pilot, and the rules, the airspace and the village's wishes are yours to check and follow. Our drone rules guide is a starting point, not legal advice. A crash, a flyaway or a confiscation is treated the same as any other damage or loss.

Damage, loss and theft

Normal wear is on us. Damage, missing parts, loss and theft are on you, up to the cost of repairing the item or replacing it with the same model. The deposit is used first. How we work that out, and what counts as normal wear, is on the deposit and damage page.

We don't sell insurance. Check whether your travel insurance covers rented equipment before you fly.

Keeping it longer, or bringing it back late

Want more days? Message us before your return time. If the gear is free, we extend at your normal rate. If gear comes back late without a message, each extra calendar day is charged at the day rate.

Cancelling

Cancel free up to 24 hours before your handover time. Inside 24 hours, we charge one day's rental for the gear we held for you. If we have to cancel, you owe nothing and anything you've paid comes straight back.

If something doesn't work

We test everything before it goes out. If something we delivered is faulty, tell us the same day. We swap it, or refund the days you couldn't use it. We can't cover missed shots or other costs beyond the rental itself.

Your footage

It's yours. Copy it off before you return the gear, or buy the card and take it home. Cards that come back are wiped in front of you. We never copy or keep your footage.

Who you're renting from

Bali Creator Gear, Ubud, Bali, Indonesia. These terms are governed by Indonesian law. The terms on this page on the day you confirm are the ones that apply to your rental.
